Safety Contact Info 

SSR (Site Safety Representative) Each Hawkins Construction project site has an SSR. The SSR assists the Hawkins Superintendents and Safety Director(s) in identifying and correcting safety hazards that may occur on the job. The SSR is a good resource in helping new hires understand Hawkins' Safe Production Policy.

Training Programs

Training is so important that we’ve created a series of programs to develop future management and increase our number of skilled craftspeople. Each program is developed and led by us and made specifically for our employees.

Crane Operator Program

Hawkins Construction Crane Operator Training Program was designed to train crane operators within the company to meet an expanding fleet of cranes. 

REQUIREMENTS 

Minimum 2 years of employment with Hawkins Construction. 

Prior equipment operator experience or secondary skill set. 

Minimum 500+ hours of seat time in a crane before testing. Qualified rigger and signalman.

REQUIREMENTS: A desire to learn and gain new skill sets.

Winter Training Program

Our winter training program (January - March) is designed as an entry-level program for those employees wanting a start on their careers in the industry. 

Basic Welding 

Paving Hubs and Grade Stakes Concrete Forming- (EFCO/Doka/Jahns) 

Equipment Training- Forklift Certification- Aerial Lift Certification 

Rigging and Signaling 

Fall Protection 

Trench Safety 

Silica Training 

Site Safety Representative (SSR) 

CPR and First Aid Basic Eye 

Level and Elevations - Transit and Rover use 

Pile Hammer 

Dual Language Courses (Spanish and English)

REQUIREMENTS: Open to all employees

Graduate Program

Specifically designed to take you from lead to an onsite superintendent. This program will test your building and people skills . The graduate program was created to develop top management level builders, both college interns and lead craftsmen. It will help develop your skills as a builder and manager. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

-Minimum 5 years of field experience, 3 years as a lead person, or 2 years of internship with a college degree. 

-Completion of all field classifications. 

-Ability to manage material, equipment, personnel, and all safety training required on the project.
